LOADBANKS

Various sizes & testing capabilities

RESISTIVE LOADBANKS

These Sigma microprocessor controlled resistive only loadbanks are skid mounted with incorporated fork lift pockets and single point lifting for ease of handling. The cooling fan can be powered from the test supply itself or from an external (preferred option) 400/440V – 3ph – 50/60Hz source via the chassis mounted 32 Amp ceeform connector.

The loadbank is supplied as standard with a 10 metre control lead but can also be operated remotely (up to 1km). The intelligent hand-held terminal (IHT) provides comprehensive and accurate (0.5% accuracy) instrumentation data of currents, voltages, frequency, true power (kW), which is displayed on the IHT LCD back-lit panel.

RESISTIVE/REACTIVE LOADBANKS

These containerised resistive and inductive loadbanks are fitted with the Sigma microprocessor system which integrates all the control and instrumentation functions in the loadbank. The resistors are force cooled by means of “4” 10.5kW DOL. fan motors.

The inductors are free standing within the container and are naturally cooled. Load control is by means of a hand-held terminal which is supplied with a 10 metre control lead as standard but can also be operated remotely (up to 1km). T

he hand-held terminal provides comprehensive and accurate instrumentation data (currents, voltages, frequency, kilowatts, volt amperes and power factor) which is displayed and printed on the hand-held terminal utilising a small calculator type printer.

Data which is displayed on the hand-held terminal is updated 5 times per second.

CAPACITIVE LOADBANKS

Capacitive load banks house industrial capacitors within an equipment enclosure, and are rated in Volt-Ampere/kilo Volt-Ampere (VArs/kVArs). Their controls allow operators to specify the exact amount of load required for a test. For most applications, capacitive load banks are used together with resistive load banks to adjust the power factor.

ASCO’s market-leading Sigma controls allow fully customizable power factor selection to suit each application. The controls allow operator to work in percentages of load, and to select loads as small as 1 kVAr depending on the model.

The 6112 capacitive load banks will operate continuously without ill effects, when absorbing power with the voltage harmonics generated by typical AC generators complying with current standards. Load tolerance is within 3% of total capacity.

DC LOADBANKS

CES has a wide range of DC Loadbanks. These small portable DC loadbanks have four-point lifting and are mounted on wheels for easy positioning. A ‘standard dial’ controller with a 10 meter control lead is fitted to these loadbanks and also, high accuracy LED meters indicating DC Volts and amps are fitted to the side of each unit.

The bigger DC loadbanks is microprocessor controlled using a standard dial type controller or intelligent handheld or PC running system software.
